Upholstery Life

How to properly vacuum your upholstery!!

Things that you will need:

  • Dirt Devil
  • Vacuum cleaner with easy to use brush.
If you suffer from allergies or if you have those furry family members leaving unwanted hair, then vacuuming your sofas is the solution for you. With these easy steps to follow it will allow you to keep those furry members indoors, plus it will help take of your upholstery.
  • First you should use a dirt devil or vacuum brush to vacuum your sofas once a week or twice if your furry member sheds a lot.
  • You will start at the top (recliner section) from the entire sofa and also at the arms rest. If it has curtains at the bottom you should work on that as well.
  • The next part you should vacuum is the sofa itself by removing the cushions and using a vacuum hose that is capable of fitting in between the sofa. You will hear all sorts of sounds like cheerios, or marbles stuck in the hose but that only means that you are removing what you do not want.
  • Cushions should be the last part to vacuum because once you vacuum from all sides you should place it back where it goes in order to leave it hair free.
  • When vacuuming your upholstery remember to rotate the cushions to have them wear off evenly, this will also extend the life of your upholstery.
Reminder: Some cushions come with a zipper on the back, but this is not for us to take them apart and take them to wash at a nearby laundromat because this will only change the size, color and at the end it will not match the rest of your sofas.
